Step 1 |
Begin by measuring and marking the canvas by a tape. Measure 6" [15.24 cm] across the top and make a mark and then measure 6" [15.24 cm] across the bottom and make a mark. Place tape from mark to mark, centring the tape over the mark. Press the tape down onto the canvas. |

Down the centre of the canvas, on the tape, measure and make a mark at 1½" [3.81 cm]. Apply tape from the top left corner of the canvas to the mark. The top of the tape should line up with the mark. Repeat this for the opposite side of the canvas. |
Step 3 |
On the left of the canvas, mark 2" [5.08 cm] from the bottom of the tape. On the centre of the canvas, do the same. On the right side of the canvas, also mark 2" [5.08 cm] down. Place tape from the left mark to the centre mark and a piece from the right mark to the centre mark. |

Step 9 |
Paint the open canvas space, using the other colours of chalky paint. Use the image as a guide or create your own pattern. Let dry. |
Step 10 |
Remove the tape. |
Step 11 |
