Caron® Marble Cakes™ unique colour effect adds dimension and interest to this crocheted super scarf. The slanted crochet shells motif makes up the scarf, finished with jumbo tassels.

Print Project

Step 1

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 9" x 75" [23 cm x 190.5 cm]

GAUGE: 10 sc and 11 rows = 4” [10 cm] with yarn held double. Save time and check your gauge.

NOTE: Scarf is made with 2 strands held tog. To achieve marled effect, use 2 balls of yarn starting at different point of stripe sequence.

Step 2

INSTRUCTIONS:

Ch 32.
Row 1: (RS). (1 sc. Ch 3. 4 dc) in 2nd ch from hook. *Skip next 5 ch. (1 sc. Ch 3. 4 dc) in next ch. Rep from * to end of chain. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 8 (counts as dc and ch-5). (Skip next 4 dc. 1 sc in top of next ch-3. Ch 5) 5 times. Skip next 4 dc. 1 sc in top of last ch 3. Turn.
Row 3: Ch 1. (1 sc. Ch 3. 4 dc) in first sc. [Skip next ch-5 sp. (1 sc. Ch 3. 4 dc) in next sc] 5 times. Skip next 5 ch. 1 sc in 3rd ch of ch 8. Turn.
Rep Rows 2 and 3 until work from beg measures 75" [190.5 cm]. Fasten off.

Tassels (Make 4).

Cut a piece of cardboard 6" [15 cm] wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 60 times. Break yarn leaving a long end and thread end through needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops 1" [2.5 cm] below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Sew 1 tassel to each corner of scarf.
