caron® anniversary chunky cake™ cross lines knit scarf

This cozy scarf pattern is created using Caron® Anniversary Cakes™. The self-striping effect combined with changes of direction while knitting gives the scarf unique crossed lines.
Step 1

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 10" x 65" [25.5 x 165 cm]

GAUGE: 10 sts and 22 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter st

SPECIAL STITCH(ES) EXPLANATION(S): 

  • Kfb (Knit Into Front and Back): Increase 1 stitch by knitting into front and back of next stitch
  • Ssk (Slip, Slip, Knit): Slip next 2 stitches knitwise one at a time. Pass them back onto left-hand needle, then knit through back loops together

INSTRUCTIONS:

Left Corner:
**Cast on 2 sts.
Row 1: (RS). Kfb. K1. 3 sts.
Row 2 and Alt Rows: Knit.
Row 3: (Kfb) twice. K1. 5 sts.
Row 5: Kfb. Knit to last 2 sts. Kfb. K1.

Rep Rows 5 and 6 until there 23 sts, ending on Row 5. Break yarn. Leave sts on a spare needle.
Right Corner: Rep from ** to ** once.
