Works for my oil painting practicing needs
I use this to practice particular parts of an oil painting before I move on to a canvas. It works just fine for this. Best to get it on sale since I'm only going to throw away the sheets when I'm done.

Great canvas pad!
Really like this canvas notebook. I use acrylic paint on them and it never bleeds through. Pages are already gessoed and ready to go.

Love this alternative
I have been using a lot of framed canvases but wanted a format that would be easier to frame; this is a great solution. Finish and weight of the sheets perform really well.

An economical way to practice painting!
I bought one of these 16x20 sized canvas pads and was happy to see that it was indeed canvas. There are 10 sheets that I cut into 40 8" x 8" sized canvas sheets and 40 4" x 4" sheets for a total of 80 practice paintings all together. I have to apply some homemade gesso to the sheets before painting with them, though, which is no big deal. They tend to curl up around the edges since they are not mounted on a board or stretched onto a frame, but they also won't take up as much room when storing! Overall, it allows me to focus on the paintings and not the price of the materials!
