bold grey clay beaded necklace
Step 1 |
Slice some clay from your white block. Knead and condition until mouldable. Add a little bit of black clay and blend until you get a shade of grey that coordinates with the pre-made bead. |
Step 2 |
Use an acrylic roller (or a clay machine) to roll each clay into an even sheet. |
Step 3 |
Roll each one into a ball by hand and shape as desired. |
Step 4 |
Use a small stylus tool to create a hole in each bead. Make sure the hole in the bead is large enough to thread hemp cord through later. |
Step 5 |
Harden the beads in the oven at 110º C [230º F] for 30 minutes. Let cool. |
Step 6 |
Measure and cut the desired length for your necklace. Add a few inches so you can add your findings. Tie a jump ring onto one end of your cord. |
Step 7 |
Plan the beads for your necklace, then thread them onto your cord. |
Step 8 |
Tie a jump ring onto the cord, just above the last bead added. |
Step 9 |
Tuck in excess cord. |
Step 10 |
Open a one of the jump rings and add a lobster clasp, then close the jump ring. |
