boho fringe beaded bag
Step 1 |
String wood beads onto fringe pieces of your bag and tie an overhand knot in the fringe. |
Step 2 |
To make the beaded strand across the top, measure and cut one 72" [183 cm] and one 24" [61 cm] lengths of turquoise cord. |
Step 3 |
Tie one end of your 24" [61 cm] cord to the handle or metal brackets one side of your tote. This will be your base, middle cords. |
Step 4 |
Align the 72" [183 cm] cord evenly and then find the middle by folding it in half; tie it onto the base cord at the middle. Slide up to the top. |
Step 5 |
Bring the A cord up and place cross the middle cord horizontally in front and over the B cord, making a loop on the right side of the middle cord. |
Step 6 |
Now, take the ends of the B cord across the middle cord and through the loop on the right side. You now have a shape resembling the infinity sign. Grasp the ends of both sides and tighten the knot over the middle cord. The knot will work up to the top. |
Step 7 |
Thread a wood bead onto the base cord and slide up so it is right under the last square knot. |
Step 8 |
Repeat Steps 5-7 until you reach the length needed to fit across your tote. |
Step 9 |
Tie the end to the handle or metal brackets on the other side. Trim excess cord. |
Step 10 |
Click here to learn how to make the feather attachment. Make your feather on a snap hook so it can easily be attached (and/or unattached) to your tote. |
