boho diamond seed bead fringe earrings
Step 1 |
Thread your needle onto a 108" [274.3 cm] length of beading thread. |
Step 2 |
Brick stitch 18 beads to make your base row. This row will be in the middle once you have completed your diamond shape.
|
Step 3 |
Turn your work so the working thread is coming out of the top left bead. Pick up a bead with your needle, run it below the “bridge” of thread that straddle over the second and the third beads. Run thread back up through the second bead, down through the first bead and back up through the second. |
Step 4 |
Pick up a bead. Run your needle and thread through the next “bridge” of thread straddling the next set of beads and back up the same bead. Repeat across the top of the beads. |
Step 5 |
Repeat Steps 3-4 until you complete the row of two. |
Step 6 |
Add three beads, then slide your needle and thread through the beads along the outside edge until your needle exits from the bottom of the outside most bead on the same side of the first half of the shape. |
Step 7 |
Now, flip your work and repeat the same technique of descending rows to mirror the top half; however, on this half, finish at a row of one bead instead of two. |
Step 8 |
For the fringe, work your needle and thread down to the outer most bead on one side of the brick stitch base row where the thread is exiting the bottom of that bead. |
Step 9 |
String all the beads for the first strand of fringe onto the thread. Now, loop around the last bead, then run your needle and thread back up through the beads as well as back through the first bead in the base row. |
Step 10 |
Hold the bottom bead in the fringe strand, pull the working thread up gently until all slack is taken up, and exit down through the next base bead adjacent to the row of fringe you just strung. |
Step 11 |
Repeat Steps 9-10 until you have a fringe strand hanging below each bead around the bottom half of the shape. |
Step 12 |
Add fishhook ear wire through the loop made at the top of the shape in Step 6. |
Step 13 |
Repeat for a second earring. |
