This project is intended for kids ages 6+.

Print Project

Step 1

First, click here to download and print the bird template; then cut out the shape.

Step 2

Trace the bird shape with a black paint marker onto canvas. Let dry.

Step 3

Brush some glue inside the bird shape, then place a tissue paper square onto the glue. Continue with the rest of the bird until desired look is achieved.

Step 4

Brush a thin layer of glue over the finished look and let dry.

Step 5

Cut a small triangle out of the foam pieces and glue to the bird for the beak.

Step 6

Glue a small foam circle to the bird for the eye.

Step 7

Use the paint marker to draw the bird’s feet. Let dry.
TIP: Use image as your guide.

Step 8

Paint a sun to your scene. Let dry.

Step 9

Stagger four (to six) green bump chenille pipe cleaners at the bottom of the canvas and wrap them around the sides.
