Love the look
Love the look, however there is an inescapable slipperiness because of how soft this yarn is. So if you need to make tight stitches you cant give much slack. Besides the difficulty, the shine and softness is well worth it.

Soft, but worms….
I use this velvet to crochet scrunchies. First of all this size is enormous, so please read the yardage for your project (I didn’t, ha). As with all slippery fibers, I have found that some loops “worm” out and after a while of use, my items look a bit worse for wear. Please google “velvet yarn worming” if you are planning a big project or even a gift and are unfamiliar with this. It can be disheartening.
In spite of all that, the yarn is very soft and plush and I haven’t found that it sheds excessively like some chenille yarns. Best of luck to anyone giving this a try. Still trying to figure out how to put most of this skein to use….

This yarn is really nice to work with and yields great products. If your tension is too tight it might strip your yarn, like colored fuzz will come off and leave a white string behind.

The better yarn for all choices
I love working with Bernat velvet yarn, its so soft and workable, I makes beautiful blankets and slippers for all ages. It comes in great colors and they dont fade when washed in cool water. I use it for scarves as well for the children in winters. Its my go to for crocheting.

Really wanted to love this yarn
I crocheted an entire blanket and saw that many loops had “popped out” of place. So, I RE-crocheted the entire blanket with a smaller hook and smaller stitches. The same thing happened. Super frustrating. It’s a gorgeous and soft yarn, but a waste. Wish I could post a pic to show you what I mean.

Lovely scarf
Watch the ends - they tend to shed. Tie offs are a bit challenging. But it’s a beautiful result and perfect for scarves. I found the recommended hook size to be a bit too large.
