Print Project

Step 1

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 46" x 60” [117 cm x 152.5 cm]
GAUGE: 6½ sc and 7 rows = 4” [10 cm] with U.S. M/13 (9 mm) hook
NOTES:
- To change colour, work to last loop on hook of previous colour. Yoh with new colour, draw through loop, tighten
previous colour and proceed with new colour.
- Carry colour when not in use loosely up side of work.
- Each skipped sc has ch-2 worked above it for 2 rows. This establishes the ‘gap’ where Mosaic Dc will later be worked
- Mosaic Dc always replaces sc directly behind it on working row
- WS of your work maintains alternating 2-row striped pattern because you are working in front of chain spaces each time you work Mosaic Dc - you are never working around chain-spaces. The chain-spaces sit behind Mosaic Dc.
- Blanket worked over foundation ch multiple of 4 ch
STITCH EXPLANATION(S):
- Mosaic Dc (Mosaic Double Crochet): Working in front of chain spaces, work 1 dc in skipped sc 2 rows below

Step 2

INSTRUCTIONS:
With A, ch 80.
Row 1: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of chain. Turn. 79 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Join B. Turn.
Proceed in Mosaic pat as follows:
Row 1: (RS). With B, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sc. *Ch 2. Skip next sc. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * to to end of row. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 3 sc. *Ch 2. Skip next 2 ch. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * to end of row. Join A. Turn.
Row 3: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 sc. *Ch 2. Skip next sc. Mosaic Dc in skipped sc 2 rows below. Ch 2. Skip next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 2 sc. *Ch 2. Skip next 2 ch. 1 sc in next st. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Join B. Turn.
Row 5: With B, ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. Ch 2. Skip next sc. *1 Mosaic Dc in skipped sc 2 rows below. 1 sc in next sc. 1 Mosaic Dc in skipped sc 2 rows below. Ch 2. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. Ch 2. Skip next 2 ch. *1 sc in each of next 3 sts. Ch 2. Skip next 2 ch. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Join A. Turn.
Row 7: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Mosaic Dc in skipped sc 2 rows below. 1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Rep from * to last 2 sts. Mosaic Dc in skipped sc 2 rows below. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st to end of row. Join B. Turn.
Rows 9 and 10: With B, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Join A. Turn.
Rows 11 and 12: With A, as Rows 1 and 2.
Rows 13 and 14: With B, as Rows 3 and 4.
Rows 15 and 16: With A, as Rows 5 and 6.
Rows 17 and 18: With B, as Rows 7 and 8.
Rows 19 and 20: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Join B. Turn.
Rep these 20 rows for Mosaic pat until work from beg measures approx 60” [152.5 cm], ending on a Row 20 of pat. Do not fasten off. Cont as follows for Side Edging
Side Edging: Row 1: (RS). With A, work 1 row of sc evenly down left side edge of Blanket. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Fasten off.
With RS facing, join A with sl st in bottom right corner and work as for opposite side edging.
