beaded pumpkin necklace
Step 1 |
First, make a bead link with one pumpkin bead. To do this, slide a bead onto an eye pin, then bend the wire of the eye pin in a 90° angle just above the bead. Grasp the eye pin wire, about 3/8"-½" [0.3 cm-1.3 cm] from the bend, between the jaws of your round nose pliers. Rotate the pliers toward you, keeping a firm grip on the wire, until a small loop is formed. Trim excess wire. |
Step 2 |
Now, remove a link from the beaded chain and remove the bead from the Silver link. Make a bead drop from this bead with a ball headpin and a simple loop on top. Before you close the loop at the top, slide it onto the loop at the bottom of your pumpkin bead link so it dangles. |
Step 3 |
Remove four more bead links from the beaded chain. Attach your pumpkin link to the loops between the second and third bead links. |
Step 4 |
Measure and cut a 12" [30.5 cm] piece of transite cord. Tie one end onto the loop on one end of the beaded links from Step 3 with a double knot. Add a dab of glue to the knot and let dry. |
Step 5 |
String six Imperial Jasper beads into the cord. Let the knot and cord end tuck into the first bead. |
Step 6 |
Remove a nine-bead section from the beaded chain. Tie the end of the cord to one end of this beaded section as you did in Step 5. Add a dab of glue to the knot and tuck in (or trim) the excess cord. |
Step 7 |
Repeat Steps 4-6 on the other side of the four-bead section with your pumpkin dangle pendant. |
Step 8 |
Add a clasp to one end to finish your necklace. |
