This mandrel is great for sizing and forming rings.It is not for hammered pieces or heavier metals. It's perfect for the lighter wire or lighter work materials. Definitely a great buy and useful tool.

I like it alot. Only thing is when you add a bead to the wire and try to shape or size it it doesn't stay sturdy.

. A good ring mandrel
This looks like a really well made ring mandrel. The size markings are clear and easy to read. I like the fact that the mandrel is totally round. I have seen pictures of other mandrels where there is a flat strip going from top to bottom containing the sizes so the mandrel isn't totally round. I think that might be a problem if you were using it to make a round ring. This one is much better because it is completely round.
