Great bits! Bad plastic chuck.
The bits are great. I've used them for everything from reaming stone beads to sculpting stone to drilling precision holes in electrical boards. If you buy this, 3/4 of the value is in the bits. I can't say enough good things about the shape of the bits. What I'll say bad things about is the plastic chuck. Over time, vibration causes the plastic chuck not to stay tightened down on the tool's metal threading, causing the collet to loosen, which makes the bit fly off. The kit comes with extra collets, but the collet isn't the problem. If the plastic chuck were metal, the tool would hold up much longer. I've had this tool for 6 years. The plastic chuck gave out 4 years ago while carving jasper. It still holds well enough for very short reaming jobs.
Luckily, the bits are a standard diameter. You can use them in a d-----l tool. The problem could also be solved by replacing the plastic chuck with a metal one, but I haven't tried. It may be a standard size. The problem of the plastic chuck could also be solved from the outset by using a helicoil to create metal threading.
Lapidary 101: No matter what you're using to rotate the bit, keep the object and tip of the bit under cool water and take breaks because the excess heat that builds up is bad for the tool and your object. Even an all-metal d----l tool will loosen the bit because heat will cause the metal to expand.
I've never had any problems with the rotary tool itself. It doesn't go fast, which is a good thing for this kind of work. The button to lock the spindle is metal, outdoing my d-----l tool! It does take a bit of force. You may need to keep pressing until you get a second 'click' from it before the spindle will lock. If you have trouble turning the plastic :( chuck while depressing the button to keep the spindle locked, keep a small wrench nearby.

Good and bad likes and dislikes
The only thing that I dont like like about this product is that the tips break easy and everything gets hot after awhile when used . But i like how I can put holes in stones and other material to be able to make jewelry out of the actuall raw material..... I also use the bits to clean off rocks to show there beauty more that's a couple of things that I like about it.....

Works fine but tips need to be replaced regularly
I used this product to make holes in small stones and it worked fine for about 8 stones and then the two longer tips broke and the triangular one is now quite dull. I wish they also sold a replacement pack of these same 3 tips because they’re hard to find together.
