Not sharp
These punches are not very sharp, I'm not able to use them without hitting them about 20 times with the mallet. Do not recommend.

You get what you pay for
I'm just a beginner in leather working so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a punch set yet. These punch okay for the first 20 holes or so, but then they start to dent at the tips.

Very good
I used this to add a hole on a saddle stir up. The leather is super thick and this did the job. I punched it on both sides as the leather was super thick. This tool did the job!

Okay for basic use
Product was purchased to make awl holes in belts. The product requires either a mallet or hammer and a sturdy punching surface. The actual hole-makers are not very sharp, so this tool would not be good for long term use. The tools are also not individually labeled for size, which would make the product better.

Not bad for the price
I have been doing leather work for only a couple of months, I've already done several projects and a few commissions. I have used these for every project and overall they do their job perfectly.
I got these for the standard price, plus had a 50% off coupon. For the price, you really can't beat them. Overall Tandy Leather does have better punches, but if you've got the coupon then this is really your best bet for just starting out. Once your making the big money go with the better equipment from Tandy. I would 100% recommend these for anyone starting out with Leather working, just a find a mentor because while it may seem easy enough to understand, there is a technique involved in using this particular hand tool. If your not getting the leather punched, your leather may be too thick, in which case I found going to a smaller size and working to a bigger one weakened the leather enough to get you the whole you need.

waste of money!
The leather punches aren't sharp at all! I pounded on the punch with a hammer multiple times and still never made a hole in the leather. I wasted almost $10 on this and more money on other tools!
