Step 1

Separate several glass bead links from the chain. Carefully open one loop and remove from linked loop. Leave loop open for now.

Step 2

Make bead links from one teardrop bead, then from several semi-precious and faceted glass beads.
TIP: To make bead links, trim off the ball end of a head pin and make a simple loop by grasping the wire end with your round nose pliers and rotating the pliers toward you, keeping a firm grip on the wire, until a small loop is formed. Now, slide a bead onto the wire. Bend the wire in a 90° angle just above the bead. Grasp the bent wire, about 3/8"-½" [0.3 cm-1.3 cm] from the bend, between the jaws of your round nose pliers. Rotate the pliers toward you, keeping a firm grip on the wire, until a small loop is formed. Trim excess wire.

Step 3

Make one bead drop with a small bead to dangle from your teardrop bead link. Before you close the loop, link it to the bottom loop on your teardrop bead link and close the loop. Set the teardrop pendant your created aside.
TIP: Slide a bead onto the headpin and bend the wire in a 90° angle just above the bead. Grasp the bent wire, about 3/8"-½" [0.3 cm-1.3 cm] from the bend, between the jaws of your round nose pliers. Rotate the pliers toward you, keeping a firm grip on the wire, until a small loop is formed. Trim excess wire.

Step 4

Plan the bead order for your necklace, then link them together. Start with the barrel clasp, carefully open a loop, link with the next loop on one side of the clasp and close the loop. On the other side of the bead, open the loop, link with the next bead loop and close. Continue linking down one side of your necklace. Repeat for two sides of your around your necklace.
TIP: As you add the links from the beaded chain you removed in Step 1, close the loops you left open.

Step 5

Repeat Step 4 on the other side of the barrel clasp.

Step 6

Open the last loop on each side, link with the top loop in your teardrop pendant and close the loops.
