Been painting again for a few months now and I love Artists Loft paints! I definitely noticed a difference from my cheaper student grade paints while mixing with different mediums. The color holds well for fluid art when using Liquitex pouring medium. Still afraid to mix too much water in though, so my pours are a bit thick, but no cracking. Perfect with thick gel and slo dri as well.

A good paint, especially for beginners. It tends to be quite liquidity so you don't have to add as much water to it as you do for some other brands.

Learning process
I sold my first painting, so I upgraded from craft acrylic to academic acrylic. I love how bright the colors are and how much thicker the paint is. However, the container wastes paint, and is difficult to get a clean dispensing of paint. I have to turn the tube upside down to get the bit of hanging paint to suck back in. This is only a minor deterant, as the colors are vibrant and smooth. I'm learning how to paint as I go, and hope I'll upgrade paint quality again someday!

Beware of mixing- looks muddy
I bought this paint because it was required by my daughter’s art appreciation teacher for a class project. She had to paint a color wheel using the three primary colors. The brilliant blue mixed terribly! When mixed with the primary red in any amount it turned out muddy and brown looking. I am an art major myself and never remember having this problem with my acrylic paints in the past. The problem was so evident the teacher even had to make a video about how ‘with these cheaper paints the colors don’t turn out right.’ (Not really sure why he chose to have us buy those paints then?)
I gave it three stars because the other colors mixed well enough. However, if I were going to make another painting, I would probably go for the better quality.
