Perfect for My Needs!
I bought this garland to drape around a hanging basket that Mourning Doves chose for a nest. Crows would sit on the rooftop above waiting for the chance to "pick off" the nestling. Because this is a garland with links every so many inches (for attachment purposes), this was perfect for draping over the top of the basket. I hooked a link over the top hook and then interwove it through the 3 chains holding the basket. The garland allowed enough room for the doves to access the basket, but the crows were too big to get in, and it also created a cover for the top so that the crows could not see the baby dove when looking down.
Since I did this, we've had some very windy days, and the garland stayed totally secure. The baby dove has now left the nest, and I plan to leave the garland in place for the next dove family. The Ivy looks natural and I'm pleased with the results.
